After 25 seasons, Cactus Pear Music Festival, its Board of Directors and Executive Director Reneé Davis are pleased to announce that they have chosen a new Artistic Director. Ryo Yanagitani will be the Artistic Director Designate during the 2021-22 season, taking over full duties and responsibilities from Founder and current Artistic Director Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio in September, 2022. After a three-year search process, Ryo showed himself, both in artistic excellence and proven leadership qualities, to be the perfect choice to take over the helm of this innovative world-class chamber music organization. Well-loved in San Antonio’s classical music community, Mr. Yanagitani is the Gold Prize Winner of the 2009 San Antonio International (Gurwitz) Piano Competition, and has concertized throughout the U.S. and Canada.
