Young Artist Program
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Cactus Pear Music Festival (CPMF) Young Artist Program (YAP) is a full-scholarship initiative led by Artistic Director Jeffrey Sykes, Education Director Craig Sorgi, and Assistant Education Director Karen Stiles. Since its founding in 2004, the program has impacted over 135 talented student musicians—and its continued success is thanks to generous donors who sponsor both the Young Artists and their teachers. YAP is the cornerstone of CPMF’s educational mission, providing serious young musicians in the San Antonio area with a tuition-free opportunity to study and perform with some of the nation’s top chamber musicians.
Each summer, four to nine exceptional young instrumentalists are selected through auditions to receive full scholarships for an intensive three-week chamber music residency. These students form an ensemble to rehearse, perform, and deepen their musical understanding through private instruction, chamber coachings with Festival artists, lectures on performance and career development, and approximately eight outreach performances—culminating in two San Antonio concerts.
Your support makes it possible for Cactus Pear to keep this program tuition-free and artistically enriching. Sponsorship helps us continue to create a transformative, joyful experience for students, expanding the reach and impact of our mission.
